In 1975, I arrived in New Orleans on a spur on the moment vacation. I was alone with no reservation for a hotel. On the recomendation of a taxi driver when asked for a reasonably inexpensive and safe place to stay in the French Quarter, he brought me to Le Richelieu. I spent five days at the hotel. I was shown extreme courtesy and helpfulness in visiting places around the Quarter. Two years later I visited again with the same results. Last year I brought my daughter there. It had been 27 years since I visited. I didn't know what to expect but was amazed. The rooms were as nice or nicer than I remembered, the food was just as good and the staff was even more helpful, if that can be imagined. I would recomend Le Richelieu to anyone that wants the best that the Quarter has to offer.
